Our Educational Philosophy
Queen Anne Community School is a place where children are encouraged to reach their unique potential socially, intellectually and creatively. Our curriculum, rich in literature and the arts, fosters a strong passion for learning by developing awareness and appreciation of the creative process. This allows children to openly share their ideas and interests, and come to see themselves as capable contributors, and valuable members, of their immediate and broader community.
We believe in:
Providing a safe, stimulating and supportive community where children feel free to express themselves, ask questions, and share dreams and passions. We believe in fostering an environment that allows children to take risks, to explore new ideas and to embrace alternative methodologies. We believe all children are unique, and therefore, their educational program should be unique as well. Queen Anne Community School individualizes the curriculum to address the varying ability levels of the students enrolled. We value our small class sizes. Small groups allow the teachers to fully know and appreciate the differing capabilities of the students in each room. The teachers are greatly invested in the program and in the specific children as well. The commitment to the children here, and the commitment to their learning, is unsurpassed.
